Our organ cases, including framework and panels, mortice and tenon joints and dovetailed cornices are completely hand-crafted.
The cases are self supporting constructions made of solid wood. If possible, we use well-seasoned oak, conforming to the local Organ Building tradition.
However, if desired, we also use other woods to fulfil other requirements of design or construction.
If possible, we preserve the typical surface characteristics of the original wood by gently fine finishing, firstly sanding the surface with great care and then applying a finishing treatment of wax or oil.
In order to ensure that all relevant areas are easily accessible for maintenance work, the panels at the sides and back of our instruments are specially designed so that they can be removed without difficulty.
